Roman bath of Thouria

In the plain west of ancient Thouria, an impressive complex of baths was built during Roman times, partially covered today by earth deposits. It was built with bricks and mortar, according to the principles of roman architecture. It comprises numerous vaulted rooms, including the three parts of the bath: the frigidarium (cold room), the tepidarium (warm room) and the caldarium (hot room). The bath copmplex served the people of Thouria, the city that spread in the plain in Roman times.
