Agia Varvara at Piges, Alagonia

The church of Agia Varvara is a domed cross-in-square that has undergone numerous later modifications, resulting in a severe alteration of its original form. Its wall-paintings are later or even modern works. The wood-carved templon is a notable example of local workmanship; a surviving inscription bears the name of the craftsman, Konstantis Christathakis of Koutsavas in Ladas and the date 1721.
