The church of Koimisi Theotokou (Assumption of Mary) at Xanthianika is an impressive post byzantine monument, with extensive19th century modifications. Its type is a domed four-column cross-in-square. An inscription abοve the south entrance mentions the year 1750. The wall paintings are dated to the 18th century. Byzantine sculpts immured in the masonry include capitals with birds in the corners, dosserets and a templon epistyle.
