The church of the Taxiarches (Archangels) belonged to the domed cross-in-square type. A spacious vaulted narthex to the west and a stone-built bell-tower were added at a later period. It was decorated with wall-paintings by an 18th century painter; a high quality wood-carved templon was put in place during the same period.
